PAR UNVEILS TAICHUNG CULTURAL CENTER

Recently we developed with engineering partner Buro Happold, a 62.000 m2 Taichung Cultural Center organized around a public space that unfolds into Gateway Park. The building is conceived as a continuous cultural twist that combines the virtues of both museum and library, maximizing interdisciplinary exchange while preserving autonomy.

BUENOS ARIES BIENNIAL

PAR is taking part in a group exhibition at the 14th International Biennial of Architecture Buenos Aires featuring the AIA New York 2013 Award winners. The award exhibition honors the architects, clients, and consultants who work together to achieve design excellence. Please stop by if you are visiting the Biennial.

PAR WINS AMERICAN ARCHITECTURE AWARD

The Chicago Athenaeum and The European Centre for Architecture has honored our Helsinki Library proposal with a 2013 American Architecture Award. “The American Architecture Awards program,” states Chrisian Narkiewicz-Laine, President of The Chicago Athenaeum, “showcases the best of new American building design and urban design-oriented research by the nation’s foremost visionary designers.”

All sixty-five of the winning projects will be featured in an exhibition that travels throughout the Americas and Europe. A catalogue accompanies the exhibition.

PAR IN COMPETITIONS ANNUAL

Keelung Harbor Gateway is the first of sixteen competitions featured in the recently published 2012 Competitions Annual. Our proposal, which was a finalist in the competition, was developed in collaboration with SES, RLA and Buro Happold.

SCIARC NOMINATES JENNIFER TO COUNCIL

Jennifer has been nominated to the SCIARC Alumni Council for the 2013-2014 term. Located in Los Angeles, SCIArc is a leading school of architecture and widely recognized as a center of innovation.

T HOUSE COMMISSION

PAR has been selected by a family to design something different than a conventional home in Washington DC. The family has requested a house which feels like a connected space, and to save the landscape as much as possible, especially its characteristic fig trees. Our design strategy stacks the house within the tree boundary and is characterized by a central void of interconnected spaces.

PAR MAKES ARCHINECT TOP 12 IN 12

Thanks for the LOVE Everybody! Guess we’ve been working too hard in the studio and missed this news months ago. Archinect’s readers ranked PAR in the top 12 firms of 2012 alongside OMA, Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Grimshaw and SOM among others. The 121212 list was determined according to firm profile page views on Archinect.
