PAR UNVEILS TAICHUNG CULTURAL CENTER

Recently we developed with engineering partner Buro Happold, a 62.000 m2 Taichung Cultural Center organized around a public space that unfolds into Gateway Park. The building is conceived as a continuous cultural twist that combines the virtues of both museum and library, maximizing interdisciplinary exchange while preserving autonomy.

PAR WINS AMERICAN ARCHITECTURE AWARD

The Chicago Athenaeum and The European Centre for Architecture has honored our Helsinki Library proposal with a 2013 American Architecture Award. “The American Architecture Awards program,” states Chrisian Narkiewicz-Laine, President of The Chicago Athenaeum, “showcases the best of new American building design and urban design-oriented research by the nation’s foremost visionary designers.”
All sixty-five of the winning projects will be featured in an exhibition that travels throughout the Americas and Europe. A catalogue accompanies the exhibition.

Keelung Harbor Gateway is the first of sixteen competitions featured in the recently published 2012 Competitions Annual. Our proposal, which was a finalist in the competition, was developed in collaboration with SES, RLA and Buro Happold.

PAR has been selected by a family to design something different than a conventional home in Washington DC. The family has requested a house which feels like a connected space, and to save the landscape as much as possible, especially its characteristic fig trees. Our design strategy stacks the house within the tree boundary and is characterized by a central void of interconnected spaces.
