ANTIQUITIES MUSEUM EXHIBITION

In Athens, we developed together with ARUP, the adaptation of a former grain silo into a 14.000 m2 Museum of Underwater Antiquities. Conceived through a spatial inversion, a system of void spaces introduces daylight to public areas whilst engaging the surrounding urban context. The proposal is on exhibit thru May 31st. Detail covers the project.

M HOUSE UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Construction progress for M House, sited in the Hollywood Hills, is scheduled to top out in Summer 2013. The project emerged from the idea of making a suspended house that floats over the canyon, thus taking advantage of the Los Angeles skyline while generating spaces for living outdoors.

ACSA 101 CONFERENCE

PAR exhibited Extreme Ocularity at the ACSA 101 New Constellations New Ecology Conference. Developed in collaboration with ARUP, the presentation revealed our approach to designing a high performance facade for a zero carbon building in the challenging Helsinki climate.

WAN AWARDS JURY

World Architecture News has selected Jennifer as a judge for their 2013 Civic Buildings category. The WAN Jury will meet in London on August 15, 2013.

PAR FEATURED IN MARK

Keelung Harbor Gateway by PAR with SES, RLA and Buro Happold is featured by our friends at MARK in their forthcoming issue #41, December/January 2012/2013. A gateway to the nation, the 120,000 m2 project is comprised of a ferry terminal and 70 meter office tower.

AJ EWAA NOMINATION

Jennifer has been nominated for the Architects Journal Emerging Woman Architect of the Year Award. Winners will be named in London on March 22nd.

M HOUSE TOPPING OUT

Look out for FUTURE ARQUITECTURAS #35, January 2013 which features our Keelung Harbor Gateway proposal. The design developed in collaboration with SES, RLA and Buro Happold placed as a finalist in an international competition in Taiwan last September. Our friend Sam Lubell at Architect’s Newspaper covers the project.

PAR UNVEILS CAGLIARI GALERIE DESIGN

We have been working on two museum proposals, which are still in judging procedure. For the Cagliari Galerie Comunale D’Art, PAR designed a network of separate but interconnected galleries that unfold and open into the landscape. Simple, primitive forms and local materials reflect a Sardinian sensibility, whilst the gesture of breaking up the museum into discreet volumes transforms the cluster of galleries into an architecture that is at once contextual and abstract. The jury selection is anticipated in Spring 2013.
