AWARDS The Chicago Athenaeum and The European Centre for Architecture awarded Helsinki Library with a 2013 American Architecture Award! "The American Architecture Awards program," states Chrisian Narkiewicz-Laine, President of The Chicago Athenaeum, "showcases the best of new American building design and urban design-oriented research by the nation's foremost visionary designers." An exhibition of the winning projects is traveling in the Americas and Europe. PAR was honored to be one of fifty international firms long listed for WAN 21 x 21, which recognizes 21 outstanding architects as forward thinking architectural leaders of the twenty first Century. The award was presided over by an esteemed jury including Martha Thorne, and Ma Yangsong.
Our Zero carbon proposal for the Helsinki Library has won an AIA NextLA Honor Award for "exhibiting conceptual strength while solving critical aesthetic, civic and social concerns as well as inventive environmental performance." according to AIA jury.
