INFINITY at VENICE BIENNALE

Exploring ideas of lightness and perception, PAR has created an interactive installation for the exhibition Time Space Existence at the 2016 Venice Biennale. Through materiality and light, the installation engages fundamental architectural themes of space and existence; its reflective forms changing according to the surroundings. The extraordinarily thin, suspended aluminum structure offers an undulating field for interaction where people can come together during events at Palazzo Mora.

ISTANBUL DESIGN BIENNIAL

PAR is taking part in The City and the World exhibition opening at the the second Istanbul Design Biennial in Istanbul, Turkey. Curated by the European Center for Architecture and the Chicago Athenaeum, the exhibition showcases the winners of their 2014 International Architecture Awards program, and will be followed by a traveling exhibition inside Europe and the United States. A catalogue will accompany the exhibition.

PAR is part of the The City and the World exhibition opening at the 14th International Biennial of Architecture Buenos Aires. Curated by the European Center for Architecture and the Chicago Athenaeum, the exhibition showcases the sixty-five winners of their 2013 international awards program. The exhibition presents challenges of contemporary architecture in building, urban planning, and design in our new world era of a renewed environmental and economic order. The exhibition will then travel throughout Europe. A catalogue accompanies the exhibition.

Our Helsinki Library proposal has won an AIA New York 2013 Merit Award for its “scenographic magnificence that is technically and environmentally convincing” according to AIA jury. We are thrilled to be part of the 2013 Design Awards Exhibition which honors the architects, clients, and consultants who work together to achieve design excellence. PAR’s finalist proposal for the 120.000 m2 Keelung Harbor Gateway is up for it’s third exhibition in D3 Unbuilt Visions. D3 promotes critical architectural debate by acknowledging excellence in speculative projects. The exhibit provides an opportunity to engage with architecture at the conceptual stage — recognizing work that offers a critical contribution to worldwide architectural discourse.

ANTIQUITIES MUSEUM EXHIBITION

In Athens, we developed together with ARUP, the adaptation of a former grain silo into a 14.000 m2 Museum of Underwater Antiquities. Conceived through a spatial inversion, a system of void spaces introduces daylight to public areas whilst engaging the surrounding urban context. The proposal is on exhibit thru May 31st. ACSA 101 CONFERENCE

PAR exhibited Extreme Ocularity at the ACSA 101 New Constellations New Ecology Conference. Developed in collaboration with ARUP, the presentation revealed our approach to designing a high performance facade for a zero carbon building in the challenging Helsinki climate.
